Keeping it Brief

Thanks to all of you who posted ideas & info about my possible move out of Diaryland into the “real world” where your tech support questions are answered quickly especially if you pay top dollar for the service, not like I’m still bitter or anything. I’m investigating the move and I might be emailing a few of you with questions and stuff. You rock!

I also finally finally FINALLY got a haircut!

I feel so much better now. And I keep swinging my hair around and smelling it, as I’m prone to do after getting it cut. My salon uses Aveda products and I usually can’t make myself cough up the dough to buy them, but they’ve gotten the tiny bottles of some of their products in and so I made a tiny splurge on the tiny bottle of Confixor, which is what CJ always uses before he dries my hair, and it works really well to make it softer and smoother.

I’m taking Friday off in order to give myself a four-day weekend that, as of this moment, is for once in my life not filled with commitments and obligations. I have loose plans to see Fahrenheit 9/11, and intend to see Spider-Man 2 also because I’m insanely excited about it. Other than that, though, nothing’s planned.

I was thinking that I might have a Lorie day on Friday – just spend it doing stuff that makes me feel good – but I’m not sure where to start, so I have to think on that a bit.

And that’s the news from here, for now.

  1. several things:

    Confixor – so great. really.

Spider Man 2 – they started selling advance tickets last week here in Dallas. I figure I won't be able to watch it for a month when tickets are available again.

Lorie Day – I'm a fan of long baths with music, bread, wine and books near by. Also, pedicures (with a parafin wax finish) and table massage. You could spend a lot at a day spa or do each thing seperately to save a little.

F9-11 – Just sayin', plan to give yourself a lot of time to decompress a bit (a lot) after the movie. Not that everyone will react the same, but better to be prepared.

  2. ha! – sorry, hadn't read the thread. For once I'm aligned with ginger – yes yes yes on the pedicure thing. (of course, I don't get my nails painted. You know, for the record.)

  3. do you know, i've never had a pedicure, ever? and only one manicure. i'm not even sure what to do but it seems like a great idea.

  4. Awww, a pedicure day in Dallas does sound fun…

But yes, you must go get a pedicure; most nail places around here will do them both at the same time. It's awesome. But tickles A LOT. :)

  5. There's a place here, Romi's (or “Romie's”) that does everything in a pedi for …really cheap. I forget now how much but it's really friggin' cheap. -and this a guy with little money writing this.

It's across from Northpark, next to the Barnes and Noble. The seats are seperated from the rest of the place by a waterwall and maassage chairs in that they've got pads you can set to vibrate, rub, roll and any combination of all three up and down your back.
…and I should mention the books and complimentary wine.

  6. man, now this looks like the “Convince Lorie to Move to Dallas” Coalition. and it makes me want to. except aren't you guys under like fourteen feet of water or whatever right now?

  7. Our grass has never been greener.
Besides that, it sure as hell beats the 100+ degree heat we can usually look forward to. Lorie, I hearby invite you to pack your boobs and c'mon down here.

  8. I'd like to try to say something to sell Dallas. But dude, I just got back from Chicago. Mmmmm, piping hot delicious Chicago.
