More and More

Okay, so add “sinus infection and ear infection” to the list of things going on right now.

I’m back from band camp and am taking 2,000 mg of antibiotics a day for the next two weeks to try to knock out these infections. Really, it’s 2,000. That number’s so big that when I typed it, it looked like one of my occasional embellishments to the truth – like if I said “hey guys, I’m taking 4,235 mg of antibiotics a day.” But really, it’s 2,000 mg. That’s a lot of drugs.

Unfortunately, the infections mean I won’t be traveling to New York this weekend for my friend Alex’s wedding after all. They don’t want me going through a climate change with fluid in my ears and sinuses, and I don’t feel well enough to travel in any case. I’m really sorry I’m going to miss it, though – I’d looked forward to being there.

So instead, I’m resting at my family’s house for the next couple of days, and then we’ll resume the insane schedule I mentioned earlier.

Band camp actually went really well, though, and I might write about that later.

I missed the computer while I was away, although I didn’t love having to moderate and clean up over 200 spam comments. Urgh. I might have to change something about the comment system to reduce that number a bit, because it’s a pain in the ass to go through and find all of it – and that’s even with a pretty extensive blacklist in place.

My hosting service has just added a really cool feature that lets me create promotional codes to give my readers any discount I want to when they sign up for a hosting package through me. I’ll keep you posted on what I decide to do with that amazing new power.

I hope you all had a great week.

  1. do antibiotics make you really sleepy? I was on some last week – just your standard run of the mill amoxicillan, but they knocked me out.

  2. Sleepy?! Wow, I wish antibiotics had that effect on me…

Instead, I get sick to my stomach and can’t hold any food down. Hope you feel better soon! :)
