I think it’s a “group” that is made up of Danger Mouse (the DJ/Producer that did the mash-up of JayZ’s Black Album and the Beatles White Album – thus the Grey Album. He also produced the second Gorillaz album) and Cee-Lo Green, some random singer from Atlanta.
As to why you should care? I don’t know… cause Crazy is one catchy tune….
Also, I’m pretty sure that Gnarls Barkley always performs in wierd costumes; they were in Star Wars costumes for the MTV movie awards performance.
Yeah, I don’t get it either. Last night, I also bitched that ice cream at Baskin-Robbins was so much more expensive than it was when I worked there… 12 years ago. I, too, am old.
Cee-Lo Green was also in Goodie Mob back in the day….
Dangermouse started out turnin’ tables in UK pubs and has been all over the place since the Grey Album; I read that he is now the most sought-after record producer in the industry right now.
Their first release (St. Elsewhere) is so.freaking.awesome. When I first started listening to it, I couldn’t stop — I think I listened to Gnarls Barkley like two months straight. I highly recommend. :)
Cee-Lo is also the father of this girl who was once on My Super Sweet Sixteen.
But yeah, I had no clue as to who they were so I made my brother sing me their song repeatedly. The first time to figure out if I knew the song, the other three times because it was funny.
The Gnarles Barkley album was much-ballyhooed, but I thought it was pretty ho-hum. It has two good songs on it (Crazy and Just a Thought), a couple OK ones and a bunch of bad ones.
I’m already sick of Crazy. Just A Thought might be one of the best songs of the year, if I don’t get sick of that one too.
He is Curley’s brother!

I hope with all of my heart that you people are making up these names and bios. If you’re not, then I’m even older than I think I am.
AWWW MAN!
i thought it was SKEE-LO!
Skee-Lo wishes he was a little bit taller. And he wishes he was a baller. And I wish he’d have used “were.”
Skee-Lo was the bomb…back in the day, which does make us old. But you should listen to Gnarles Barkley because it’s not so bad!

glad to see you’re old again.
I actually know this one, as opposed to the other groups you listed the other day.
i wish there were fewer grammar nazis out there.
(or maybe i should say, i wish there was less people worried about grammar. ha!)
Ho-hum!? Mike you are insane.
In short: St. Elsewhere is an album about depression and death that makes you want to dance.
Aside from Crazy and Just A Thought, I recommend Go Go Gadget Gospel, Smiley Faces, and The Last Time. :)
