Tired, So Tired
I’m tired.
I worked Friday night, and then I conked out while trying to watch the debate, and then I worked on Saturday, met an out-of-town friend for drinks, and then went home and conked out while trying to watch NU beat Indiana, and I slept until noon on Sunday and I’m still tired.
Yesterday I drove up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is about five minutes away from my house, to take some pictures with my new camera. All the overlooks at the lower elevations were pretty packed with families and such, since it was such a beautiful day yesterday, so I decided to just keep driving until I found a place where I wanted to stop. I’m not sure how far I went – forty miles, maybe? – but eventually I ended up way up on a mountain, and it was like I’d crossed into a completely different season. It was well and truly fall up there. The air was several degrees cooler, the light was different, the trees were more orange, and leaves were everywhere. And it really, really smelled like fall, too. I took a bunch of pictures, some of which I’ll scan as soon as I get around to having them developed.
I think I have a meeting of some sort every day this week. I’m tired just thinking about it. I wish I had the day off.
I wish I had the day off.
I woke up thinking that very thing this morning. …and then, at about 1pm, I thought it again.
” I wish I had the day off”=time for a sick day.
I got 2 hours off cause a water main broke on campus. hehe :)
It finally quit raining here, and today's beautiful. Now I wish I had the day off.
YES, it's definitely a beautiful day in Dallas today.
And I'm wishing I had the day off.
You probably know this, but I'll tell you anyway :) The “Four Mile Loop” on the parkway (if you are going south it is right before you get to the turn of for Mill Mountain) has a nice little over look that isn't normally very crowded.
