I Can’t Stop
Tony Pierce says it right, as always: how to blog by tony pierce
I don’t follow all the rules, but I should. Oh, and while I read Tony every once in a while, I got this particular link from Amy, who has a rockin’ new design so you should go visit her anyway.
I have this obsessive habit that when a song gets stuck in my head (doesn’t matter if it’s a new song or not) I have to listen to it over and over and over again until I’m nearly sick of it. I do this for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the following:
- To learn the lyrics
- To get another hit of the thrill it gives me. And another. And another.
- To figure out the exact places where the singer varies the song so that I’m not singing in dead space when I’m singing along.
- Because I have an obsessive personality.
Hey, if you’re going to a fast food restaurant to order so many items that you need a list to remember them all, for the love of Jebus don’t go through the drive-thru. That’s not what the drive-thru is for. And when I’m sitting two cars behind you all sweaty and waiting for the A/C to get cold and listening to “Red Hill Mining Town” for the sixth time in a row, I will also be fantasizing about walking up to your gigantic club cab pickup, pulling you out of it, getting into it, and running you over with it before placing my extremely simple order (#7, Diet Coke) and driving your truck that I just stole up to pay at the first window.
Goddammit, I’m supposed to be writing copy, NOT WRITING HERE. (see: obsessive habit, above.) I’m horrible.
i have done about 30 minutes of work today.
good god.
im so glad you liked my post!
5. dont tell your mom, your work, your friends, the people you want to date, or the people you want to work for about your blog. if they find out and you'd rather they didnt read it, ask them nicely to grant you your privacy.
Greatness.
Run over the idiot in the truck once for me if you ever really do it.
Not horrible, just interested in something more interesting and therefore…normal.
