Relay for Life
Relay for Life is a pretty big deal on our campus, and we’re holding our Relay this weekend. For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Relay for Life, it is an overnight event where teams and individuals walk or run laps throughout the night to raise money for cancer research, to celebrate survivors of cancer, and to remember cancer patients who did not survive. If you’ve never had the opportunity to witness a Relay going on, you should try to find one some time – even if you don’t choose to walk in it. It’s truly a touching and inspiring event.
My sister Sammi is participating in this year’s Relay and I am immensely proud of her for getting involved in something so worthwhile. She is raising money for her team (all of it will go to cancer research) and I wanted to offer all of you an opportunity to contribute if this is a cause that is meaningful to you. Please don’t feel obligated to give a lot if you choose to give – every little bit adds up.
If you’d like to support the American Cancer Society through Sammi’s involvement in Relay for Life, please use this link to visit her individual donation page, where you can print a pledge form or give securely through Kintera.
Thanks in advance!
Ours is this weekend too. Is everyone’s?
Not everyone’s. UVA’s is later this month. Thanks Lorie, I’m actually pretty excited about it! And our team is staying till 6am when we have open house 2 hours later!
So happy to see this! I worked at the American Cancer Society before I started this job and the Relay really is an amazing thing.
