not good

My cat has been missing for almost 24 hours.

There’s no way she got outside, and I have turned every room in this house almost literally inside out in hopes of finding her. No luck.

I am afraid she’s crawled into the ductwork via an uncovered heat register. She had a scare last night and was looking for a place to hide. This might not bother me as much as it is if I could hear her in there, could hear her collar bell jingling or her fat feet clomping around or her meowing. I don’t hear anything at all.

The last time we had to deal with a cat in an HVAC duct, the cat had been dead for several weeks.

So.

I’m not really at my best right now.

UPDATE: She is found. It’s quite a story, and I’m very tired, so I will tell it tomorrow.
