The New BOB FM
One of the radio stations I listen to regularly during my commute is an oldies station, 97.9, that used to be called “The River.” Over the holidays, The River is one of those stations that changes to 24-hour Christmas music. I had gotten sick of Christmas music and hadn’t tuned in to 97.9 for a while, until last week, when I discovered that 97.9 is no longer The River.
Now it’s called Bob FM. And after a lengthy commercial about how Bob is family-friendly, and plays only the music you remember and love, and the DJs aren’t obscene or obnoxious, and there aren’t very many commercials, they lay the new slogan on you:
Turn Your Knob to Bob.
Needless to say, I think this is hilarious, and now I’m turning my knob to Bob just about daily.
awesome.
so what DOES Bob play for you?
(once you’ve turned your knob, of course)
That reminds me of that radio station here, Jack FM. :)
That sounds awfully dirty for a “family station”.
that’s awesome, that “family friendly” commercial cracks me up every time I hear it. Cause I know every other station in the Roanoke/NRV area has “smutty talk” dj’s. Hah.
weird – they have this same radio station in canada, with the same marketing ploy. who knew it was a chain?
I think BOB got cancelled. No joke. Cant find it anywhere!!! Guess no one turned their knobs. Sad but true.
